SanDisk Latches On to HD Videocam Market with Video HD Cards

SanDisk Video HD SDHC Card & Memory Stick PRO Duo

Naturally, SanDisk will not be left out of the high-speed, high-capacity memory card race in the HD video market. After all, they pride themselves as having invented the thing; they’ve launched their own video-centric memory cards and it says there right on the label.

The SanDisk Video HD SDHC and Memory Stick PRO Duo will start coming out in March in 4GB and 8GB capacities for both formats, with the 8GB flavors being able to record and store up to 120 minutes of standard high-definition video. These memory cards are targeted to satisfy the growing market for HD-capable flash-memory-based camcorders and hybrid camcorders.

The SanDisk Video HD SDHC cards will retail at $80 (4GB) and $140 (8GB). The Video HD Memory Stick PRO Duo cards will sell for $80 (4GB) and $150 (8GB).
