Samsung: Now, There’s a 10-Megapixel Camera Phone

Samsung Camera Phone

Samsung has unveiled the very first camera phone with 10 megapixels! Yes, count your fingers, 10 MP. Nokia’s flagship camera phone, the N95, has a measly 5MP.

Samsung said its newest model, the SCH-B600, offers the same level of picture-taking sophistication that a 10-megapixel digital camera offers (Really? We’ll see). It has 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom (Why don’t they just do away with the digital zoom altogether?). It’s got autofocus too, and a flash unit.

The B600 also supports white balance, manual focus, continuous picture-taking, and interval picture-taking functions. It shoots and plays movies (on the TV too) and plays mp3s.

It’s priced at about $900, enough to buy you a digital SLR camera and a good mobile phone.
