Samsung Omnia SGH-i900 SmartPhone

Samsung has launched its new Omnia SGH-i900 SmartPhone at the on-going CommunicAsia in Singapore. The new mobile device touts a built-in 5-megapixel CMOS camera that offers extra features including auto-focus, face and smile detection and auto-panorama shot. Its looks and specs are poised to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone.

Samsung aims the Omnia i900 at business users with its PC-like performance, switching seamlessly between Microsoft Outlook email and productivity applications with a stroke of the finger. Its TouchWiz technology allows tap, sweep, drag and drop operations using the finger.

The Omnia i900 is based on the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, giving users a mobile extension to their PC experience, with access to MS Office documents such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

The Samsung Omnia also offers GPS, including navigation and geo-tagging capabilities. The new mobile phone is available in 8GB or 16 GB capacity options and extendable slot for additional storage.

CommunicAsia Singapore runs until Friday, June 20, 2008.
