Samsung launches two new entry-level digital cameras – the 7.2-megapixel S760 and the 8.1-megapixel S860, extending the range of its S-series compacts.
The S760 and S860 feature a 3x optical zoom (38~105mm in 35mm film equivalent) Samsung SHD lens, and offer shooters Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) to help minimize the effect of camera shake.
These entry-level cameras also offer advanced features such as Face Detection which detects up to nine faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality and Self Portrait mode, a unique functionality that takes the guessing out of taking a self portrait.
The new Samsung point-and-shooters can be powered by two AA alkaline batteries. Both are available next month at $179 for the S860 and $169 for the S760.
