Samsung Korea today unveiled its latest camera phone, the SCH-W480, which also goes by its ‘Inner Zoom’ moniker. This one’s being marketed as a true digital camera while also being faithful to its mobile phone duties.
The SCH-W480 features a 5-megapixel image sensor with a 3x zoom, autofocus and face detection functions. The 3x optical inner zoom mechanism makes no whirring lens extend out of the body. Samsung says the inner zoom lens is also favored for its small size and dust-free operation.
As a mobile phone, it does HSDPA at 7.2Mbps for high speed downloading, WCDMA/GSM global roaming, Bluetooth and MP3 and video playback. It can handle up to 8GB of expandable memory.
The Samsung SCH-W480 will be available in Korea only at 600,000 Korean Won (about $650).
