RSPCA Young Photographer Awards Chooses 33 Entries

Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

The London-based Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has narrowed down the entries to its Young Photographers Awards competition down to 33 photos from among the thousands they received.

The chosen photos, which feature kittiwakes to kitties, lions to lemurs, will be displayed at the glitzy annual award ceremony to be held at the Natural History Museum in London on December 14, 2007.

Awards will be given in categories including Overall Winner, Olympus Portfolio Prize, Under 12, 12-18 and the new Pet Personalities categories. Prizes range from an RSPCA photoshoot to top of the range cameras.

The RSPCA Young Photographer Awards is an annual competition, now on its 17th year, to give the youth a chance to develop their photography skills and instill in them the compassion towards animals.
