The Philadelphia firm Rohm and Haas Co. has bought out Kodak’s light management films business, which produces advanced films that improve the brightness and efficiency of liquid crystal displays.

The acquisition, which was finalized last Friday, also transfers about 125 Kodak employees to Rohm and Haas. The employees are mostly based in Rochester but a few are associated with business work in Taiwan, Japan, China and Korea.

The deal includes a facility in Rochester and an agreement for Kodak to supply key raw materials.
