Ridata to Release 8Gb Yego USB Hub/Drive

Ridata Yego USB Flash Drive/Hub

The RIDATA Yego USB Flash Drive is shaped like the letter Y to provide users a virtually unlimited number of USB ports; you use one port, it gives you two. It’s a drive and it’s also a hub. You can also link them together for even greater USB connectivity and storage capacity.

Advanced Media, Inc., who makes these devices, is pleased to announce that the Ridata Yego Drive is now available in 8GB capacity. They will be showcasing the Yego and demonstrate its capabilities at the upcoming CES from January 7-10, 2008 in Las Vegas.

“We are inviting CES attendees to see a Yego demonstration so they can touch and feel the Yego to better understand its unique and practical design to handle everyday digital storage uses,” says Harvey Liu, Advanced Media president. The demonstration will include the use of multiple Yego drives, digital cameras, an IPOD and other USB drives.

The Yego is plug-and-play, no external power or battery is needed, as the USB port on any compatible desktop or laptop computer powers the Yego Drive. A power-saving mode reduces power consumption. The new RIDATA products are compliant with USB 2.0 with a full-speed transfer rate of up to 480Mbps. The drive is also backward compatible with USB 1.1.

As with the newer USB drives, the Yego also comes its own security features. For privacy and protection, the Yego Drive features advanced partition and security functions that make it possible for users to create password-protected sectors for the storage of personal or highly confidential material.
