RealPIX USA Announces Camera for Realtors Only

RealPIX Camera for Realtors

Some folks in Nashville, TN have come up with the idea of a specialty camera for real estate photography. They call it the RealPIX, a wide-angle camera that has a fixed 22mm focus using an f2.0 lens with a full 90-degree field of view.

The RealPIX main selling points, which also take 80 percent of the cost to build it, are its wide-angle lens and its flash system. Proponents of the camera said this is what real estate professionals need, a distortion-free wide-angle camera with a powerful flash for indoor and outdoor house shots.

There is no LCD screen on which to compose or view your shots, just a good old peep hole for a viewfinder. The RealPIX has no memory card slot too. It takes 640 x 480 (VGA) photos saved directly as JPEGs onto its onboard memory which is good for 400 photos.

The RealPIX is said to start shipping on July 10, and those Tennessee folks are now inviting orders for the new digital camera. Would I plunk $300 for this? No, I’d rather wait. And see.
