Primera Technology, Inc. based in Plymouth, MN and Charismac Engineering, Inc. have teamed up to offer Mac users the ability to burn Blu-ray discs using software that runs on the Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard operating system.
Beginning today, April 1, 2008, Primera will include Charismac’s new Discribe v6.0 software in all Bravo-Series and XR-Series Disc Publishers destined for Mac platforms.
Discribe v6.0 has been completely rewritten in Universal Binary Code for optimal performance on all current Mac platforms. It runs natively on both Power PC and x86 (Intel)-based Mac computers.
One of Primera’s disc duplicators, the Bravo XR-Blu Disc Publisher ($5,295, MSRP), for instance, can write to a dual-layer BD-R media with a capacity of up to 50GB per disc. Each disc can also be individually printed in high resolution color at up to 4800 dpi.
