PopPhoto Names Leica D 14-150mm Lens of the Year

Panasonic Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm f/3.5-4.5 ASPH Four Thirds Lens

PopPhoto Magazine has named the Panasonic Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm f/3.5-4.5 ASPH Lens of the Year in its July/August 2007 issue.

The new Leica lens’ zoom is equivalent to 28-300mm in 35mm parlance. PopPhoto cited its built-in optical image stabilization (Panasonic’s Mega O.I.S.) as a valuable asset for sharp handheld shooting at its longer focal lengths.

The lens incorporates 15 elements, including four aspherics and one ED. It also features built-in ultrasonic focusing (XSM, for Extra Silent Motor).
