Plawa USA Rolls Out AgfaPhoto DC-600uw Underwater Camera

AgfaPhoto DC-600uw Underwater Camera

The new AgfaPhoto DC-600uw is a compact digital camera that claims to be waterproof down to a depth of 10 meters. That’s deep – about 33 feet. You usually need to use underwater housing costing about $1000 to go that deep.

But this $200 camera can do that on its own, no housing, no fuss. It offers 6 megapixels of resolution, enough for good 8×10 prints, and a 36mm prime lens, moderately wide, but good enough to capture the underwater scene. It also has a 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen.

Its ISO 100-1600 should give you a light sensitivity range that could cope with reduced lighting down at 33 feet of sea. Other features: 10 scene modes, custom white balance option, 32MB of internal memory plus SD/SDHC compatibility. Movies? Yes, of course, it does 30 fps at VGA mode. Available now.
