Phozi Launches Free Site for Purikura Graphics-Enhanced Photos

Purikura photos are small jazzed-up pictures popular to many young people in Japan. The pictures are usually taken in small photo booths in malls and decorated right there.

Now, Phozi is bringing Purikura to your homes by offering this new and free service online. The company allows users to get creative by turning ordinary photos of their friends and themselves into graphics-enhanced, entertaining images.

There’s no registration or special equipment required, and no software to download. You don’t even have to be tech savvy.

Phozi works with all kinds of digital photos including those uploaded from web cams, cell phones, computers, and digital cameras. You just click on your photo and the graphic that you want, and Phozi will create your very own Purikura.

(Purikura is a modern Japanese word, a contraction of purinto kurabo, which of course is the English “print club.”)
