Before there was Lightroom and Aperture, Photo Mechanic was the workflow software. Even now, if your job involves importing, browsing and transmitting tons and tons of photos, Photo Mechanic is still tops. Pros swear by it.
Camera Bits has released the latest version of Photo Mechanic, Version 4.6, with a long list of changes that include a slick folder-watching Live Ingest function, a full-resolution loupe in the Contact Sheet view, additional upload templates for Amazon S3, Flickr, SmugMug and others, expanded GPS support, an option to export all program preferences for import into Photo Mechanic on another computer.
Version 4.6 is a free update for users who bought their Photo Mechanic on or after February 1, 2008. Upgrading from older versions is $90 and a new license is $150. A 20-day trial version is available.
