Phase One, Mamiya Introduces 645 Open Platform Medium Format Camera at PIE 2008 Tokyo

Phase One 645 Open Platform Medium Format Camera

Copenhagen-based Phase One and Tokyo-based Mamiya Digital Imaging have introduced what they claim to be the most flexible open medium format digital camera platform.

Known as the Phase One 645 Camera or the Mamiya 645AFDIII, the co-developed platform is designed to accept all quality digital camera backs while still being able to be used in traditional film operation.

It offers the widest choice of high-end lenses, including the complete Mamiya 645 lens range, the new 28mm aspherical and D series lenses, as well as Hasselblad V-lenses and Pentacon Six lenses. The 645 is designed to achieve shutter speeds from 1/4000 sec. to 60 min.

The first pre-production units will be demonstrated at this week’s Photo Imaging Expo 2008, March 19-22, in Tokyo, Japan.
