Pentax is planning to sell its prime real estate properties in Tokyo and spend the ¥12 billion it stands to gain on solidifying its finances.

After completing the transfer of its offices to Saitama and Tochigi prefectures, the company will sell the land and buildings of its headquarters in Tokyo. During the move, Pentax will not lay off any workers but will reassign some staff into its three remaining main businesses: camera, medical equipment and optical components.

Pentax has decided to concentrate on those three while withdrawing from unprofitable fields such as making printers and measurement equipment.
