The Pentax Optio W30 waterproof digital camera is diving a bit deeper underwater while boasting some new features of its own.
The W30 is an enhancement of its successful W20 predecessor which could go 5ft (1.5m) underwater for 30 minutes. The new camera can now take underwater photos at 3 meters deep continuously for 2 hours.
Aside from enhanced waterproofing, the Optio W30 also sports a new high-intensity 2.5-inch LCD screen that features a Bright Mode to make it easy for viewing even under the sun. One other new feature of the camera is its ability to take macro photos of subjects as close as 1cm, like when you want to take a close up shot of that little cleaner wrasse smiling in front of the gleaming white teeth of the great white shark. (Just a dream shot, that.)
