‘Tis the season for announcing new cameras and Pentax also has a couple to unveil, the 7x zoom Optio Z10, above, with 8 megapixels and the Optio S10, photo below, with a 10-megapixel image sensor.
The Optio Z10 boasts fast detection time with its Face Recognition feature for improved portraits and digital Shake Reduction that allows ISO 3200 to capture sharper images even in low light settings. The sleek, stylish Optio Z10 body design has a sliding lens cover for extra protection that also switches the camera on and off.
The Optio S10 also offers digital Shake Reduction and a high-speed Face Recognition AF&AE functions. The Optio S10 is the seventh DivX-certified digital camera from Pentax. Now enhanced with digital Shake Reduction, the DivX format enables users to create high-quality video files that may be played back on a wide-variety of DivX DVD players and other devices.
Both cameras are priced at $250 each and both will ship in September.
