Panasonic Talks About a Wireless Lumix Camera; Where is It?

Panasonic Logo

Panasonic announces the development of a wireless digital camera that can send photos directly to Picasa Web Albums. The LUMIX wireless camera uses the T-Mobile Hotspot service to do this. (It brings to mind the Nikon Coolpix S50c wireless camera introduced in February last year which had the same functionality via Coolpix Connect.)

The new wireless LUMIX comes with complimentary access to T-Mobile HotSpot service for 12 months. After uploading, users can receive an email with a URL link to their photos, which they can then share with family and friends. In addition, users can confirm that photos have been successfully loaded to Picasa Web Albums and can delete photos directly from the digital camera, according to the Panasonic announcement.

T-Mobile HotSpot service is available at more than 8,500 public T-Mobile HotSpot locations throughout the U.S. such as Starbucks coffee shops, Borders Books & Music stores, Hyatt Hotels and approximately 70 major airports across the United States.
