Panasonic Lumix G10 to Ship When It’s Shipping Time(!?)

Panasonic Lumix G10 to Ship When Its Shipping Time(!?)

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 claims to be the lightest interchangeable lens digital camera today, weighing in at 558 grams or 19.7 oz., even if there’s the Nikon D3000 DSLR (weight: 536 g or 18.9 oz, including batteries), or the Olympus E-PL1 at 334 g including batteries, to name just two.

Not being the lightest however does not detract from what it hopes to offer in the video and stills department. Using the mirrorless Micro Four Thirds system, Panasonic said the Lumix G10 can record 1280 x 720 HD video in Motion JPEG, QVGA, VGA and WVGA formats and shoot photos with its 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor aided by the new Venus Engine HD II to separate chromatic noise from luminance noise and apply the optimal noise reduction to each, so users can capture clear and beautiful images even when shooting at high ISO sensitivity levels.

Panasonic says pricing and availability for the Lumix G10 will be announced 30 days before shipping date, which was also not given. Go, figure!
