Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 Redux: Double-Blah

Lumix LX2

We already looked at this before, but the kindly folks over at Imaging Resource have another review for the Lumix LX2.

In essence, they praised the LX2’s triple wide feature set of 16:9 lens, 16:9 image sensor and 16:9 LCD, its good looks and speedy performance. However, on image quality they wished Panasonic could tone down the color saturation a bit while improving the camera’s dynamic range. Noise is also still a problem at all ISO settings, especially at ISO 800 and 1,600. In short, not very good pictures.

For its $500 price, you’d expect a camera to deliver very good pictures. Look closely at the sample pictures taken with the LX2 by Imaging Resource and you will notice some artifacting and indeed a lot of noise.

When before we said the LX2 was blah, now we say it’s double-blah.
