Panasonic Launches 8GB, 16GB High Speed SDHC

Panasonic announces its latest 8GB and 16GB SDHC memory cards under the UHS-I specification. The new cards are Class 10, capable of delivering up to 60MBps data transfer speed. The UHS-I label represents a higher-speed interface that provides a data transfer speed up to 104MBps.

With the higher reading speed of up to 60MBps, the new SDHC cards can transfer data to a PC two times faster than Panasonic’s current Memory Cards. The company said these also offer stable writing performance with Class 10 speed specification, ensuring highly-reliable 3D and full HD video recording.

Both incorporate Super Intelligent Controller (SICS), which is designed for high-level data protection, according to Panasonic. The Power Failure Protection function automatically retrieves data when power suddenly fails and preserves important data.

The new memory cards, with model numbers RP-SDY08G and RP-SDY16G, will be available in November 2010.
