OWC Offers Up to 500GB HDD Upgrade for Macbooks

Following last week’s announcement of new Macbooks from Apple, Other World Computing is offering hard drive upgrades for the Mac laptop computers.

OWC has a full selection of new 7200RPM and 5400RPM 2.5” SATA internal hard drives in capacities up to 500GB for Apple’s MacBook, MacBook Pro 15”, and MacBook Pro 17″ models.

The company said their hard drive line-up offers higher capacity and performance compared to standard factory drive options. OWC also offers memory upgrades from as low as $70.

Their new hard drive offerings include:

• Hitachi Travelstar 5K320 – 320GB 2.5″ 5400RPM with 8MB cache, 3 year warranty, $75

• Hitachi Travelstar 7K320 – 320GB 2.5″ 7200RPM with 16MB cache, 3 year warranty, $110

• Seagate Momentus 7200.3 – 320GB 2.5“ 7200RPM with 16MB cache, 5 year warranty, $120

• Samsung Spinpoint M6 – 500GB 2.5“ 5400RPM with 8MB cache, 3 year warranty, $180
