O’Reilly Media today released Photoshop CS3 Photo Effects Cookbook by Tim Shelbourne, designed to enable the user to cook up amazing results quickly and easily.

The new book is packed with 53 easy-to-follow recipes, inspirational digital imagery, and authoritative information and advice for digital photographers, designers, and artists.

In this book, Tim shows us how to use the improved Vanishing Point, Lens Blur, and Black & White filters in Photoshop CS3 as well as how to create graphic art effects like posterization, watercolor, pen and ink.

He also lets us in on the secrets of working with lighting effects such as neon glows, lens flares, fire and flame effects plus many other techniques in Photoshop.

“Day can be turned to night, skin can be transformed to wood or stone, and that image of your pet dog can sport a knowing, but subtle grin,” says Tim.
