Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T5 Digital Camera

Sony Corp. is recalling Cyber-shot DSC-T5 cameras from users in the U.S., Europe, China and Japan because the bottom part of the case may warp and create a sharp edge that could cut users’ hands.

The defect affects about 71,200 units of the camera with serial numbers from 3010001 to 3081200. Customers are advised to check the serial numbers at the bottom of the camera to see if they are affected.

A Sony spokesman said there were about 350,000 DSC-T5s sold in the U.S., Europe and China and another 66,000 sold in Japan since it was introduced in September 2005.

Sony is offering free replacement service to affected users.
