Olympus Unveils µ-7050 Compact Digital Camera

Olympus µ-7050 Compact Digital Camera

Olympus announced today the new µ-7050, a 14-megapixel compact shooter touting six Magic Filters, four of which – Drawing, Pinhole, Pop and Punk/Rock – can be applied to HD movies it can record. Soft Focus and Fisheye filters apply to stills.

Olympus said the new µ-7050 is equipped with TruePicIII image processing engine which was originally developed for an interchangeable lens digital camera, which should deliver natural color fidelity and wide dynamic range. It is equipped with a 7x zoom lens.

A built-in “DUAL IS” image stabilization based on high-sensitivity shooting and CCD-shift image stabilization mechanism compensates for image blur due to camera shake by adjusting the direction of the CCD.

This new camera will start selling in Japan later this month.
