Olympus Introduces Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 Telephoto Lens

Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 Telephoto Lens

Olympus is introducing the new Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm 1:4.0-5.6 telephoto lens this autumn. The new lens is designed specifically for digital SLR cameras in the Four Thirds system.

While previous lenses offering 35mm equivalent focal lengths of 600mm or more were invariably large, heavy, and expensive, making it difficult for most users to enjoy the benefits of super telephoto shooting, this new lens is only 127 mm long and weighs 620 grams.

The new Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm lens offers magnification extending to 300mm, or 600mm in 35mm equivalent terms.

Telephoto macro shots from a minimum distance of 96cm in manual mode and 1.2m in autofocus are possible across the entire breadth of the focal range, giving the photographer plenty of working space for close-ups of difficult subjects.
