Olympus flooded the market today with ten new compacts in their FE, mju and SP series of cameras.
Outstanding among them are the FE-200 with a wide-angle 5x zoom lens, the 10-megapixel mju 100, the SP 510UZ with a 10x (equiv. to 38-380mm on a 35mm camera) zoom and the mju 725 SW, which is shockproof and waterproof up to a depth of 5 meters.
The others in the impressive lineup are: Stylus 1000 (10MP, waterproof), Stylus 740 (7MP, 5x optical zoom), Stylus 750 (CCD-shift image stabilization system), Stylus 730 (slim, weatherproof, ISO 1600), FE-190 (6MP entry-level model), and a pair of “no-nonsense” budget models FE-170 and FE-180, both with 6 megapixels.
Today’s announcements come ahead of the Photokina 2006 imaging technology trade show which begins September 26th in Cologne, Germany.
