El Oceanográfico de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias de Valencia

El Oceanográfico de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias de Valencia, of Spain, will stage its first International Underwater Image Festival on May 7-11, 2008

The Oceanográfico is billed as the largest marine center in Europe where people can hold conventions and expositions. The center aims to promote the conservation of the marine world.

Aside from product exhibitions, the 5-day festival will also present video and photo documentaries of the underwater world as well as lectures and workshops to be presented by renowned professionals in marine conservation and imaging. The speakers will include Leandro Blanco, Juan Antonio Romero, Andy Byatt, Roberto Rinaldi, Juan José Bueno, Manu San Félix, Francisco Candela, Juan Carlos García and Michael Aw.

Films and presentations will be in the Castillan language, so brush up on your Spanish if you wish to attend. The trade show, though, will speak the language of money under the mantle of ecological conservation.
