Nikon Launches Scholarship Program in Thailand

Nikon Corporation has embarked on a scholarship program to support youth education in Thailand.

The “Nikon Scholarship Program” will award grants to 170 students in high school and university level classes by helping defray their educational costs.

The company’s move is seen as a way of giving back to the hard-working community that produces nearly 75 percent of its hot-selling digital imaging products, mostly built in Nikon’s Ayutthaya province plant, which was established in 1990.

The “Nikon Scholarship Program” also promotes higher education. In cooperation with Thai universities, one university graduate will be awarded each year and given an opportunity to advance to master and doctoral programs in Japanese universities.
