Scanning Negatives and Slides, 2nd Ed., by Sascha Steinhoff

Rocky Nook has released the second edition of Sascha Steinhoff’s book, Scanning Negatives and Slides. The book aims to teach users how to achieve the best possible digital image from a negative or slide, and how to build a workflow to make this process efficient, repeatable, and reliable.

The most common software tools for scanning – SilverFast, VueScan, NikonScan – are covered extensively in the book. A DVD comes with the book containing the scanning software and other useful tools for image editing, as well as numerous sample scans.

Sascha Steinhoff is a computer expert by training and a photographer by passion. His book, Scanning Negatives and Slides, 2nd Ed., is now available from O’Reilly for $45.
