Canon has issued Firmware Version 1.0.6 for the EOS 30D digital SLR camera, allowing the correct names of newer lenses released after the EOS 30D to be recorded in the Exif information of images taken.
The newer lenses include:
• EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM
• EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
• EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
• EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM
• EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
• EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II
• EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
• EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II USM
• EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
• EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
The firmware update also adds lenses that are compatible with the Digital Photo Professional 3.2 lens aberration correction function. Canon said more lenses will be supported by the lens aberration correction function of Digital Photo Professional 3.2, Canon’s RAW image viewer/editing software.
