The National Cherry Blossom Festival is the annual celebration of Japan’s gift of cherry trees to Washington D.C., and Lulu.com has launched a photo contest to mark the occasion.
The photo contest invites photographers of any skill level to submit their photos of favorite Festival memories, the many scenic views along the Tidal Basin, and unforgettable moments under Washington’s blossoms.
A photo team from the Washington Post will select 12 winning photos which will be featured on the 2008 Official NCBF Calendar. Aside from appearing on the calendar, winners will also receive the premium version of the calendar, a National Cherry Blossom Festival gift pack and a $100 gift certificate to MotoPhoto, the one-hour photo processing store.
Of the 12 finalists, the grand-prize winner will bring home a new Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with accessories and two additional premium copies of the 2008 calendar. His winning photograph will be featured on the calendar cover.
Deadline for submission of entries is on April 30, 2007. Details here.
