Microsoft Expression Media 2 Beta Available for Download

Microsoft Expression Media DAM Software

A public beta version of Microsoft’s Expression Media 2 is now available for download. Expression Media 2, also known as xMedia, is the successor to the popular digital asset management tool iView MediaPro which was acquired by Microsoft in June 2006.

The new version adds support for new file formats and offers improved performance. It also features a new Keyword finder with which you can create and view hierarchies of keywords for your media files.

Support for Nikon D3/D300 NEF files has not yet been incorporated into Expression Media 2; they are still working on it in collaboration with Nikon. But if you are running Leopard on the Mac, you can specify the operating system as the decoder for support for the D3/D300 Raw formats.

Microsoft Expression Media is a professional asset management tool to visually catalog and organize all your digital assets for effortless retrieval and presentation. The full version retails for $299.
