Metz 48 AF-1 TTL USB Flash Gun

The new Metz mecablitz 48 AF-1 TTL digital flash sports a USB interface like its big brother, the 58 AF-1, so its firmware can be updated via Internet.
The Metz 48 AF-1, with a guide number of 48, can be used with Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Samsung and Sony DSLRs.
It is supported by a full swivel reflector system, including an extractable reflector card and a diffuser for creative possibilities of exposure in photography. With its slave function the 48 AF-1 digital can also be used detached from the camera.
The company hopes the new Metz 48 AF-1 will follow in the footsteps of its big brother, the Metz 58 AF-1, which has already been honored with the “Plus X Award – Innovation” and the EISA AWARD as the “best product 2007-2008 – in the category photographic equipment”.

The Metz 48 AF-1 digital is a powerful flashgun with a lot of settings. It produces well exposed shots. Wireless master/slave functionality, second curtain synchronization, modeling light, flash bracketing, built-in diffuser and reflector card are all there. You get the whole package with this unit. Basically this flash looks good, feels good and performs good. And for the money it is well worth considering. So just watch out for the weak tilting lock, make sure you like the user interface and don't mind the "for Can" inscription.
