Logitec LHD-ED Silent External 3.5” Drive

Logitec LHD-ED

Logitec Corporation of Japan (not to be confused with Logitech of the mouse-and-keyboard fame) today announced its LHD-ED series of silent external hard disk drives.

The LDH-ED uses a 3.5-inch hard disk drive that runs quietly and is able to turn itself on or of simultaneously with your PC.

The Logitec silent disk is equipped with a protection system that can turn the disk into read-only mode. It also features its own Logitec Secure Projects software which locks down data to prevent unauthorized access.

The Logitec LHD-ED external drives come in two versions: Firewire and USB, and USB only. Capacities range from 250GB to 750GB at 7200rpm.

Available in mid-November, prices of the Logitec silent HDD’s range from $130 to $600.
