Lexar to Release Pro 1000X CF Cards

1000X means read speeds of up to 150MB per second (write speeds lower). While that seems to pale in comparison with Sony’s new XQD card at 1Gbps, Lexar’s new Professional 1000X CF cards are guaranteed to capture video at 20Mbps with no dropped frames.

The new Lexar CF card is based on the high-speed performance of UDMA 7 technology. The company said the new card’s performance is optimized to leverage the latest photo and video features available in high-end DSLR cameras, allowing capture of high-quality images and 1080p HD and 3D video, and then transferring them from card to computer at blazing-fast speeds.

The new Lexar Professional 1000x CF card will be available in February, with MSRPs of $170 (16GB), $300 (32GB), $530 (64GB), and $900 (128GB, this last one’s available in April).
