Lexar Media has announced a new generation of solid state drives (SSDs) with faster speeds and bigger capacities. The latest line includes the 256GB Crucial M225, pictured above, which boasts 250MB/sec read speed and a 200MB/sec write speed.
The new SSDs use a SATA 2.0 (3Gb/s) interface and feature MLC NAND flash components housed in an industry standard 2.5-inch drive enclosure, which means you can drop them in place of your usual notebook hard drive and they’re ready to go.
The new Crucial SSDs are available in 64GB ($170), 128GB ($330) and 256GB ($600).
