The Leica M9 Firmware is now Version 1.116. The updated firmware removes a magenta cast seen in the left half of the frame when certain wide-angle lenses – including the 18mm f/3.8 ASPH; the 21mm f/2.8 ASPH; the 24mm f/3.8 ASPH; the 28mm f/2 ASPH and the 28mm f/2.8 ASPH – are used.
Leica said the firmware also introduces an ISO-dependent vignetting correction feature, improves image quality in thumbnail display, speeds up the SD card formatting process, and fixes bugs.
The new firmware is available from the Leica website. The Leica M9 is a full-frame interchangeable-lens digital rangefinder camera featuring 18 megapixels packed in its 24 x 36mm Kodak sensor with an IR cut filter but no anti-alias filter.
