Konica Minolta Issues Service Bulletin for Maxxum 5D & 7D

Konica Minolta came out of retirement briefly Saturday to issue a service advisory for their Maxxum Dynax 5D and 7D models. The company said that some of its digital cameras may show an error message after not being used for a long time.

The word “Err” is displayed in the view finder and the image turns black or dark blue. In most cases, the “Err” indication can be cancelled by turning the main switch again and then photos can be taken normally.

Konica Minolta says cameras exhibiting the malfunction will be repaired free of charge. But since they’ve been out of business since last year, Sony Corp. will provide the appropriate customer service.
