Kodak EasyShare Z1085 IS Zoom Could Be a Worthwhile Camera

Kodak EasyShare Z1085 IS Zoom

From Kodak’s arsenal of ordinary cameras, comes what could be a worthwhile offering, the EasyShare Z1085 IS Zoom. It’s got 10 megapixels and an all-glass Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 5x optical zoom lens (35-175mm equivalent in 35mm). Best of all, it offers to capture true HD quality photos and video and play it back at 720p and 1080i resolution on your TV.

Of course, these are all promises until we could validate it after March 2008, its scheduled shipping date, and confirm that it can indeed do what it promises to do and do it well.

For now, we’ll just have to gape at its specs and listen to Kodak saying the Z1085 camera has optical image stabilization, intelligent scene detection, intelligent capture control, etc. Add to that a host of other features like in-camera editing, face detection, multimedia slide show right from the camera and text and voice tagging, and we really have a worthwhile camera here.

We hope it delivers, and justifies its $250 price tag; we wish the company finds its “Kodak moments” again.
