STEREO REALIST 3-D CAMERA 35mm f3.5 w Light Meter, Flash, Case, Instruction book:
I purchased this camera in the late 1980's when I became intrigued with 3D photography. My only real camera experience at the time was I had a Canon A1, which forced me to learn a bit about SLR photography principles. After some reading the manual and learning to use the light meter, I shot many rolls of slide film with what I think were very good results. I bought an electric Realist 3D slide viewer(which I still have to view my slides and for the grandkids). I learned to develop my own slide film in a closet, but eventually, life goes on and other things, ie computers & digital cameras, became a distraction. I purchased my film cutter and mountings from a company that probably doesn't exist anymore. I still have one roll of developed film I have not mounted and that was probably taken in the early 1990's. This camera and accessories were stored in a closet for several years. When I got it out recently, I realized there was still a roll of film in it, so I shot the rest of the film and now looking for slide film developers(anyone have a favorite). As far as functionality goes all I can say is the film advance, shutter cocked and clicked when button was pushed and at the end of the film roll it rewound, so I could open the back (see photos) to retrieve it. The film was Kodak Ektachrome 100HC 35mm for slides DX 24 Exp. So here is the bottom line...I don't know if this camera is fully functional or not. I put batteries in the flash and heard that high pitched sound as it built a charge, but do not remember how to discharge it to see if the flash still works. I played with the light meter a bit and it seems functional based on the swing of the meter. This camera is being sold "as is", with the possibility it needs cleaning, recalibrating/rebuilding and could be just for parts with no warranty. Included as shown in the photos are the manual, a book titled "The Stereo Realist Guide", a pamphlet showing accessories, the leather bag(Sportsman-502, age unknown). only allows 12 photos per listing, so ask if you need additional photos. Questions are welcome and encouraged.
