Imatest Updates its Camera Testing Software

Imatest Camera Testing Software

Imatest LLC of Boulder CO has a new version of their image analysis software suite used to evaluate the performance of cameras in lab conditions. It measures the sharpness and image quality of digital camera images and digitized film images. It allows users to accurately determine the performance of their cameras or imaging systems.

In short, it measures the technical performance of cameras, but not the artistic merits of an image.

The updated Imatest API (Application Program Interface)/EXE (Windows executable) suite consists of five program modules to help automate testing: Sharpness Frequency Response (SFR) to measure sharpness, Colorcheck for white balance and color accuracy, Distortion for lens testing, Stepchart for dynamic range, and Uniformity for light falloff.

The latest version also promises improved ease-of-use and a 30 percent price cut if purchased by the end of the month. The Imatest API/EXE suite is currently priced at $2800 down from the original $4000. There’s also Imatest Light for $129 and Imatest Pro for $499.
