IFA 2007 Kicks Off Today in Berlin

IFA 2007 opens today in Berlin, Germany with more than a thousand exhibitors from the world’s top consumer electronics, information technology and communication industries showing their wares.

The electronics trade show is billed as one of the most important trade events in the world with order placements expected to top €2.5 billion or $3.4 billion.

Products on display include the latest in home and audio electronics such as TV, DVD, home theaters, photo & video products, media players, computers, memory media solutions, radio, public music and professional media, telecommunications and many more.

IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) started life in Berlin with the first “Funkausstellung” in 1924. In 1930, Albert Einstein delivered the opening address at the 7th IFA.

Today, it’s a gigantic media event with over 6,500 journalists from 74 countries including 5,211 media representatives from Germany and 1,308 from other countries.

IFA 2007 runs until September 5, 2007.
