For $400, the HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer is the most ambitious of the latest batch of printers released recently by the company.
Among other things, the C8180 offers to print lab-quality photos in 6-ink color and laser-quality black text using HP Vivera inks, archive photos to – or print from – CDs/DVDs, with or without a PC, using a built-in burner, and etch personalized text directly onto CD/DVDs, using LightScribe technology.
The C8180 is HP’s flagship home photo printer, scanner and copier. It is the first AiO with a 3.5 inch touchscreen display and includes a CD/DVD burner with HP LightScribe technology which lets users etch labels onto discs.
The new printer is among the products launched by HP for what it calls Print 2.0, the company’s initiative to enhance web printing by making it easier and adding new functionality like digital content creation and publishing platforms.
