HP today announced the Photosmart B8550 Photo Printer, a home printer that can produce from 4x6in photos to large-format prints up to 13×19 inches. And it prints directly from digital cameras without using a computer.
HP says that with affordable individual ink cartridges, this versatile 5-ink printing system provides laser-quality pigment ink black text and lab-quality photos, making it a perfect upgrade from current home photo printers.
The company adds that the HP Photosmart B8550 Photo Printer’s long-lasting, dual-drop-volume print head is comprised of 55 percent recycled plastic material (RPET). HP derived the recycled material from Original HP ink cartridges collected through HP’s Planet Partners return and recycling program and other sources such as plastic water bottles.
The HP Photosmart B8550 Photo Printer retails for $300.
