Hitachi Ships 200GB Travelstar 7K200 Notebook HDD

Hitachi 200GB Travelstar 7K200 Notebook Hard Drive

Hitachi has begun shipping its highest-performing notebook hard drive, the 200GB 72000RPM Travelstar 7K200.

Not only is it fast and capacious, the Travelstar 7K200 hard drive comes with an optional hard-drive level “Bulk Data Encryption” technology to protect notebook users against data loss and piracy.

With bulk data encryption, data is scrambled using a key as it is being written to the disk and then descrambled with the key as it is retrieved, ensuring security and privacy. It is considered to be virtually impenetrable.

And, when it’s time to discard the hard drive you don’t have to physically destroy it or write over it again and again to get rid of your data. By simply deleting the encryption key, the hard drive is rendered unreadable and, thus, safe from prying eyes.

Dell XPS and Alienware notebooks are now equipped with the Hitachi 200GB 7200 RPM Travelstar 7K200 notebook hard drive. If you want to create dual hard drive configurations with 400GB of available storage, the Aurora m9700 and the XPS M2010 are available for that purpose.
