There is a new version of the VueScan scanning software. Hamrick has just released Version 8.5.10, saying the application now has more than 600 improvements since the release of VueScan 8.4 two years ago.

Hamrick also announced that in recognition of the large number of educational institutions using VueScan, there is a new policy of offering educational institutions two licenses of VueScan for every license purchased, including educational institutions that have previously purchased VueScan.

“We actively support educational institutions, and recognize that their financial resources are often very limited,” said Ed Hamrick, President of Hamrick Software. “In this 10th year of business we are making a huge effort to increase the number of supported scanners, the number of supported languages, the number of advanced features, and also to make it as widely available as possible at the best price to all markets.”

VueScan is available in two editions, Standard Edition ($40 USD) and Professional Edition ($80). The Professional Edition adds unlimited free upgrades, advanced IT8 color calibration and support for raw scan files.
