Google Releases Picasa 3.5 with Name Tags

Google Picasa

Google’s Picasa photo editor is a free online resource available for anyone connected to the Internet. You can do basic image editing with it, crop your photos, enhance them, organize them, etc., as long as you’re online.

The latest version, Picasa 3.5, now has name tags with which you can organize your photos based on what matters most: the people in them. In this new version, you can also more easily geotag photos using Google Maps, plus import photos from your camera and upload them to Picasa Web Albums in one step.

Google says “Picasa 3.5 adds quite a few enhancements over Picasa 3.1, making this a significant upgrade for users of earlier versions. What’s more incredible is that Picasa is still FREE.”

And you begin to wonder, “Will it be just a matter of time when they begin charging fees to use Picasa?”
