German Stock Photography Market

The stock photo market in Germany is worth about $260 million a year, according to an estimate of the German press agency association.

The Bundesverband der Pressebild-Agenturen (BVPA) also said 88% of sales came from digital pictures while 12% came from printed pictures. Sales through foreign partner agencies averaged 6%, with direct sales to foreign customers at 9%.

The study is based on an anonymous survey where 44 of the 100 BVPA member agencies participated. The agencies surveyed earned a combined revenue of 32.9 million euros in the 2005.
